Shift lever height feels low

I was riding my 2023 Ducati DesertX around Phoenix last weekend and noticed my boots kept snagging the shift lever. Has anyone here successfully adjusted the shift lever up on the spline to create more toe room on the DesertX, and did it affect the quickshifter alignment? I would like to make this adjustment myself, but I am unsure about potential issues. My brother did something similar on his Multistrada with no problems, but the DesertX may differ. Any tips before I break out the tools?

I've adjusted my DesertX shift lever up a notch to fit my boots better. Quickshifter still works fine, but just loosen the bolt, move carefully, and double-check alignment before riding

Adjusting the DesertX shift lever upward absolutely should've been Ducati's stock setup, because designing adventure bikes with cramped foot controls that force riders into aftermarket fixes is lazy engineering disguised as heritage styling

frankly, messing with the DesertX shift lever yourself probs isn't worth it, Ducati already sets it up for most riders, and DIY tweaks usually just mess with the quickshifter alignment

Thanks to all 3 of you for weighing in. From what I've read here and on other forums, moving the lever up one spline seems doable without affecting the quickshifter, as long as I check the alignment after tightening everything down. I don't plan to bend or modify the lever, just reposition it slightly for more boot clearance. I'll test the change this weekend and post an update after I've ridden with it. If the quickshifter feels off or the lever still feels cramped, I might look into the Wunderlich extender others mentioned. Let me know if anyone has tried that part on the DesertX and how it held up off road.
