DIY TomTom wiring on my DesertX

I'm trying to avoid going to the shop for something simple, I want to wire my TomTom GPS so it only turns on when I start the bike. Connecting directly to the battery keeps it on all the time but I'd rather use a switched power source, maybe like the one for the front lights

You're on the right track, you can tap into the bike's switched power source like the front lights that way, the GPS powers on only with the ignition and won't drain your battery
